CLNG Takes Part in QatarEnergy Safety Summit

From October 20 to 21, 2025, QatarEnergy held the NFXP Transportation Project Safety Summit in Shanghai. CLNG General Manager Sheng Shanxing and Deputy General Manager Shu Binglin were invited to lead a team to attend the summit, accompanied by the company's technical, commercial, and ship management teams.

During the summit, CLNG engaged in extensive exchanges with QatarEnergy and senior management from multiple shipowners and shipyards. All parties reached a consensus, agreeing that continuously improving safety management standards and operational efficiency is key to driving high-quality development in the industry. They also expressed anticipation for further collaboration and value creation based on existing partnerships. Centered on the core safety concept of "Proactive Care," the summit featured Chinese and Korean shipyards sharing their safety management practices and outcomes, while shipowner representatives emphasized the critical role of safety leadership and collaboration in project execution. A specially arranged brainstorming session, led by four Chinese and Korean shipyards in collaboration with relevant shipowners, involved group discussions on safety management challenges and coordinated planning for high-risk operations in the upcoming year’s projects. During the meeting with CLNG, the management of the Qatar LNG project outlined their methodology for evaluating shipowners' project execution. They commended CLNG's performance in both QP Project Tranche 1 and QP Project Tranche 2 and expressed appreciation for CLNG's initiative in undertaking coordination responsibilities for the Tranche 2 QC-MAX project. In response, CLNG reaffirmed its confidence and commitment to deep involvement in the project's execution and management.

To date, CLNG has secured contracts for 12 LNG carriers of 174,000 cubic meters each in QP Project Tranche 1 and 2 LNG carriers of 271,000 cubic meters each in QP Project Tranche 2.
