CLNG Signs Long-term Charter Party Agreement for two QC Max Vessels with QatarEnergy

Beijing • 29 April 2024 –CLNG signed a long-term time charter agreement with QatarEnergy in Beijing for the operation of two QC Max-type large LNG vessels, each with a capacity of 271,000 cubic meters. His Excellency Mr Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, the Minister of State for Energy Affairs, the President and CEO of QatarEnergy attended the signing ceremony and signed the agreement with Cong Jian, General Manager of CLNG. More than 80 guests attended and witnessed the signing ceremony, including QatarEnergy Senior leadership team, senior executives from China COSCO Shipping Corporation Limited, China Merchants Group Limited, COSCO SHIPPING Energy Transportation Co., Ltd., China Merchants Energy Shipping Co., Ltd., China National Petroleum Corporation, China National Offshore Oil Corporation, Sinochem Oil Co., Ltd and Shandong Marine Group Ltd., etc.

The QC Max vessel type contracted in this agreement is currently the world's largest LNG carrier. As part of QatarEnergy's grand LNG fleet expansion program, the vessels will primarily serve for its NFXP Project, Golden Pass Project and future fleet replacements or renewals.

The ink of two QC Max vessels will further optimize CLNG's investment portfolio, diversify its vessel types, enlarge the fleet scale and lay a solid foundation for its high-quality and sustainable development. 

So far, CLNG engages in the investment of 36 LNG vessels (including orders), with 22 already in operation.
