LNG Ship Management Forum Held in Hong Kong

On April 19, 2024, Mr. Ren Yongqiang, Chairman of COSCO SHIPPING Energy Transportation Co., Ltd., and Mr. Wang Yongxin, General Manager of China Merchants Energy Shipping Co., Ltd., attended the LNG Ship Management Forum with the theme of "Green Shipping, Intrinsic Safety" which jointly organized by CLNG and CLSICO in Hong Kong.

At the forum, General Manager Wang Yongxin expressed that, China is actively promoting the transition to low-carbon energy because of the carbon peaking and neutrality targets. The LNG ship transportation industry chain is entering a period of rapid development. With the expansion of LNG fleets, we face new opportunities and challenges. We must continuously improve safety standards and adapt to the new trends of green, low-carbon, and intelligent shipping, ensuring smooth global industrial and supply chains. Mr. Wang Yongxin emphasized the improvement of LNG ship management standards from four dimensions: crew training, technological advancement, benchmarking management, and supervisory control.

The forum invited experts from GTT, MTI, CLSICO to deliver keynote speeches, discussing the latest trends and developments in LNG ship safety management, crisis management and emergency response in LNG ship management, LNG market and ship operations, and sharing best practices and advanced technologies in LNG management. The forum aimed to promote innovation and cooperation-driven LNG ship safety management.

More than 100 guests and industry experts from domestic and foreign energy industry chains, transportation chains, financial chains, and relevant regulatory authorities, including Guangdong Dapeng LNG Company Ltd., Shanghai LNG Company Ltd., Shenzhen Gas Corporation Ltd., NYK, Seapeak, K-Line, Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding, China Classification Society, China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) Gas and Power Trading & Marketing Limited, and Marine Department (Hong Kong), participated in this forum.

Alongside the forum, Mr. Feng Bo, Executive Vice President of China COSCO Shipping Corporation Limited, and Mr. Feng Boming, Executive Vice President of China Merchants Group Limited, as well as other leaders from COSCO Shipping Energy Transportation Co., Ltd. and China Merchants Energy Shipping Co., Ltd., attended the CLNG 20th Anniversary Seminar in Hong Kong, recognizing the historical achievements of CLNG over the past 20 years and hoping that CLNG will stand at a new starting point to promote the high-quality development of the company to next level.
