First Vessel for Qatar Energy Project Successfully
Delivered
On May 16, the 174,000-cubic-meter LNG
vessel “AL TUWAR”, jointly invested by CLNG, NYK, Kline, and MISC
for the Qatar Energy project, was officially delivered at Hudong Shipyard. Mr.
Cong Jian, General Manager of CLNG, attended the signing ceremony on behalf of
the shipowner.
The “AL TUWAR” is a fifth-generation LNG vessel from Hudong-Zhonghua’s independently developed "Changheng Series," with a total length of 299 meters, a beam of 46.4 meters, and a depth of 26.25 meters. It features the latest twin-skeg hull design and is equipped with multiple low-carbon and digital technologies. The ship is classified by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and the China Classification Society (CCS).
The vessel began its maiden voyage on June 2,
arriving at Qatar’s Ras Laffan loading port. It then passed through the Strait
of Hormuz and the Strait of Malacca to China , reaching Shenzhen’s Dapeng Terminal
on June 21, where it unloaded approximately 133,000 cubic meters of cargo.
