Ceremony for Qatar Energy LNG Transportation Project’s
Vessel "AL MAS’HABIYYAH"

On the morning of July 22, the naming
ceremony for the Qatar Energy LNG Transportation
Project’s vessel “AL MAS’HABIYYAH”, in which CLNG
holds an equity stake, was held on Changxing Island in
Shanghai. Representatives from COSCO SHIPPING Energy Transportation, China
Merchants Energy Shipping, Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd., and
other key stakeholders across the industry chain attended the event.
The “AL MAS’HABIYYAH” integrates
green energy and cutting-edge technology, marking the progressive delivery of
sister vessels under CLNG’s participation in Qatar Energy LNG transportation project.
This supports CLNG and Qatar Energy in jointly building a green and win-win LNG
shipping ecosystem, while also showcasing China’s outstanding capabilities and
leading position in international LNG transportation through strategic
partnerships.

The “AL MAS’HABIYYAH” is the second vessel built by CLNG for Qatar Energy LNG transportation
project. It is a 174,000-cubic-meter LNG vessel from Hudong-Zhonghua’s independently developed fifth-generation
"Changheng Series", custom-designed to
meet Qatar Energy’s technical standards for operating the world’s largest LNG
fleet. The ship embodies the latest design concepts, state-of-the-art technical
equipment, top-tier environmental performance, and the accumulated expertise
from Hudong-Zhonghua’s legacy LNG vessel designs.
With a total length of 299 meters, a beam
of 46.4 meters, and a depth of 26.25 meters, the vessel adopts the latest
twin-skeg hull design and is equipped with multiple low-carbon and digital
technologies, achieving world-leading performance metrics. It is classified by
the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and the China Classification Society
(CCS).
